De Minsk-akkoorden zijn zeven – acht jaar oud – of beter dood. Zij hadden voor vrede moeten zorgen. De waarheid is dat de Oekraïense regering geen enkel punt van de afspraken nagekomen is en dat de rebellerende oostelijke provincies de facto uit het Oekraïense staatsbestel verwijderd werden. Kiev heeft daar de burgers in de steek gelaten. Er werd geen ambtelijke administratie meer verleend, geen medische zorg voorzien, geen pensioenen uitbetaald, geen basisproducten aangevoerd, infrastructuur – zoals water- en elektriciteitsvoorziening verwaarloosd en/of gewoon tot puin herleid.. enz. Duizenden burgers werden het slachtoffer van de beschietingen uit het zgn. regeringsgebied. Te beweren dat Poetin de Minsk-akkoorden gekelderd heeft is gewoon een farce. Hij heeft bij elk overleg, bij elke toespraak, bij elke onderhandeling aangedrongen op de uitvoering van de Minsk-akkoorden.
Dat talrijke Donbass-burgers intussen Russische identiteitspapieren hebben is gewoon uit noodzaak. Van Kiev konden ze geen hernieuwing van benodigde documenten, zoals verlenging van een I.K. of een rijbewijs, aanvragen voor kinder-, onderwijs- of sociale steun e.d. niet meer krijgen. Dus trokken ze over de grens om daar als bio-Rus een aanvraag in te dienen voor de nodige documenten en kregen bijgevolg een dubbele nationaliteit.
Poetin heeft de ongemakkelijke waarheid quasi dagelijks verkondigd voor de wereldpers. Hij heeft de vinger op de wonde gelegd, telkens weer aangedrongen op de uitvoering van de getekende akkoorden, mede onderhandeld door Angela Merkel. Maar niets gebeurde. Zelensky vindt dat hij niet gebonden is door akkoorden afgesloten door een vroegere Oekraïense regering. Zelensky wil niet praten met de “Donbass-schurken”.
En nu is het te laat. De kans dat de afgescheiden provincies naar Kiev terugkeren is zo goed als onbestaande. Er is te veel gebeurd. Te veel pijn, te veel open wonden, te veel nieuwe wonden. De Minsk-akkoorden waren al acht jaar dood vooraleer Poetin uiteindelijk het overlijden meldde.
Toen het westen het voormalige Joegoslavië de genadeslag gegeven had, verviel de staat in meerdere kleine staten. En in 1992 gingen de Tsjechen en de Slovaken uit elkaar. Ook in Joegoslavië meende de NAVO te moeten ingrijpen met talrijke slachtoffers als gevolg. En toch is zoiets als een soort vrede weergekeerd.
Poetin heeft uiteindelijk de Oekraïense regering voor blok gezet: de goedkeuring van de Minsk-akkoorden moest er komen. De bemiddelaars die hem in Moskou bezocht hebben keerden stuk voor stuk met deze boodschap terug naar huis. Uiteindelijk komt er aan alles een einde, ook aan geduld. Welk nut heeft een akkoord dat al zeven – acht jaar stof ligt te vergaren?
Het was altijd het westen die de tafelspringers in Kiev tot hogere sprongen verleid heeft en zo de oplossing van het conflict gesaboteerd heeft. Kiev is zelf verantwoordelijk voor de afscheuring van de oostelijke provincies.
Europa telt nu twee kleine staten meer. Ze zijn echter niet kleiner dan de Baltische staten of deze die van het voormalige Joegoslavië overgebleven zijn. Laat ons hopen dat ze niet in een loopgravenoorlog belanden.
Het ziet er niet goed uit voor ons Europeanen en dat door het verraad door eigen politiek gespuis dat steeds bezig is voor ‘eigen belang’.
Hopelijk wordt er snel werk gemaakt van “Democratie” zodat we snel in een geweldloze wereld mogen leven.
Het zou beter zijn vrede te sluiten met Rusland dan de Russische ambassadeurs ‘op het matje’ te roepen want die ambassadeurs lachen zich een breuk.
Samenwerken is de boodschap en geweld zwaar te bestraffen te beginnen op eigen grondgebied.
Russen zijn niet mijn beste vrienden maar ze hebben evenveel recht op de waarheid dan andere staten. Wat ik wel kan beamen is dat de Ukrainers erger zijn dan de Russen nl hautain, onbeleefd en zeker een volk dat leeft van corruptie en zelfbeklag.
Ge moet ze maar eens tegen komen ze kijken naar u alsof je drek bent en denken van zichzelf dat ze de navel van de wereld zijn.
Al vervolg op mijn vorige reacties en op de laatste berichten van de redactie, een nieuwe poging om een duidelijker zicht te krijgen over de achtergronden van het conflict in Oekraïne, want we worden hier immers geconfronteerd met een gigantische, maar ook bloedige komedie.
